How important are soft skills in the education of our kids?

Take part of a survey on soft skills

soft skills - competencias transversales

Are our children prepared for the challenges and the job market of the future?

Take part in the survey and share it with friends and colleagues. The survey can be answered in Catalan, Spanish, and  English.

During the Jobs Reset Summit held from October 20 to 23 October 2020, the World Economic Forum presented the report on the 10 essential and transversal skills that workers will need in 2025. These include innovation, creativity and critical thinking, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, and problem solving.

In this sense, the World Economic Forum has concluded that it is necessary to focus on reforming education since there is a vacuum in life skills learning to prepare young people for the challenges of the future.

«Our biggest dilemma is that the world does not anymore reward for what you know, but for what you can do (so the way you apply your knowledge). For example: Are you able to think like a scientist, rather than say the formula. Also the emotional skills are becoming more important!”

Andreas Schleicher – Special Advisor on Education Policy to the Secretary-General at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD

Our Experimenta Challenge team is collaborating on a study that aims to assess the extent to which our children work on these skills at the school, home or on extracurricular basis. In addition, the survey aims to highlight the importance of these skills for parents in relation to the preparation of children for adult life. The aim of the study is to detect gaps and develop educational strategies that improve the skills of minors.
